Treasures

Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga.  Two highly regarded games I’m hoping to save some time in the near future to play.  Thanksgiving weekend may be the ideal time to do so.

I’m so excited to show this off!  As you can tell from the image above, I finally pulled the trigger and got Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the Dreamcast.  Even though I love that I now possess a copy of this marvelous game for my collection, now wasn’t an ideal time to make such a purchase what with the holidays coming up and a dentist appointment later this week, but this is a game I wanted to get for a long time.

Actually, it was waaaaay more expensive a few years ago when I was originally looking to buy it.  Then after when it was released for the PS3 and 360 the prices slowly dropped.  I just happened to see a copy up for sale the other day and the price was great considering that this is a complete and very clean copy.  Seeing that this would probably be my only opportunity to get this game, I clicked the button and now days later I have it sitting on the Dreamcast shelf.

You always said, “wanna take you for a ride.”  Well, I’m here now.  Let’s go!

The ultimate and final collection

October 31, 2014 | 07:34 | Written by: snake911

For a Halloween treat check out this guy’s insane collection of Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake games.  It looks like he has every version, expansion pack, and sequel ever made.  He even has side things like the Doom board game, books, and even a video card that has a Doom 3 sticker slapped on the fan’s housing!  Man, if I had the cash I would seriously get in contact with this guy about buying his collection.  But alas, his starting price is way above what I can afford.

Below are a few extra up close images, but more can be found by clicking this link.

Feature Presentation of Software (FPS)

War 2004: Doom 3 vs. Half-Life 2

Ten years ago saw the launch of two incredible games for the PC – Doom 3 and Half-Life 2.  Actually, I would consider all of 2004 as a milestone year for gaming as so many fantastic games came out that year; similar to what many believe 1998 was for gaming, too.  But let’s narrow the scope and focus on just these two games.

More like a feature than compared to the traditional articles I’ve written so far, it will discuss both games in crazy details; describe some of the tech each game was built on; reminisce on the hype surrounding these two titles; and compare and contrast each game to one another to find out what they brought to the table for, not only their respected names, but for gaming as well.  And also to just celebrate these fabulous sequels.

Onward!

Sweaty palms

October 19, 2014 | 15:30 | Written by: snake911

Just played about an hours worth of Neverending Nightmares and boy did that game do a number on me.  My tense meter was at 11 the whole time I was playing.  I'm still working my way through the game, but I wish I had more time today to play it (need to leave soon to visit the folks).

Cool thing about this game is that it changes the colors on my Alienware X51 PC.  By default it is a dark blue, but when I start the game it changes to blood red!  Other colors like grey will appear too during gameplay.  Neat-o.
